SILVER Alert canceled for man who left Parkland healthcare facility

The Washington State Patrol canceled a SILVER Alert for a man with memory issues who walked away from a healthcare facility in Pierce County.

WSP said 65-year-old Daniel Matthai was last seen leaving his Parkland-area care facility on foot at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, the WSP announced that Matthai had been located

When the SILVER Alert was activated, authorities advised the public about Matthai's memory issues and how he may not be able to return without assistance.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said Matthai has several mental health conditions and requires medication, which he did not have with him.

Matthai is 5'8", 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. It's unknown what clothing he was wearing.
